Tencent technology reported that, citing two people familiar with the matter, the company's revenue in the first quarter of 2020 was about 40 billion yuan (about 5.64 billion US dollars), up 130% year on year. 据报道，字节跳动公司目前仍然是一家非上市的私营科技公司，因此并无对外公布每季度财务数据的义务。

外媒指出，130%的高增长速度表明，诞生8年的字节跳动公司正在捕捉中国互联网广告市场的更多份额。

据知情人士透露，该公司的大部分收入主要来自其在中国的应用软件内部广告，包括新闻聚合客户端今日头条和短视频客户端颤音(相当于国内版本的TikTok)，TikTok并没有成为字节跳动公司的重要收入来源。
